Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Yehuḏah, the Root of Dawiḏ, overcame to open the scroll and to loosen its seven seals.”
Revelation 5:5 is the only place in the Bible that we see the title “the Lion of Judah.”
In Yahushua’s first coming, as the Lamb of Elohim, He offered Himself as a sin offering for man. By His death and resurrection, He triumphed over sin and death.
In Revelation 5, John saw a vision of YHWH sitting on the throne with a scroll in His hand.
John wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or read it. John was told not to weep because the Lion of the tribe of Judah overcame and was worthy to open the scroll.
Having overcome sin and death, Yahushua will return victorious as the Lion of Judah. A lion represents power and royalty in the animal kingdom. Yahushua will soon come to establish His Kingdom on Earth. He will come to rule the nations with power, strength, and wisdom.
Revelation 5:12 “Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and respect and esteem and blessing!”
Yahushua told us to pray for His Kingdom to come.
I painted the lion picture above as a reminder of His coming Kingdom. I look forward to the day when Yahushua is reigning in all His glory!
Thank you, Jordan
