As a sojourner living far from my home country and loved ones, I often find myself remembering times past with longing. Through poetry and art, I have been able to return, in a way, to my past while staying present in my current circumstances.
The following poem was written for my sister on her 50th birthday. I live in the Middle East, and she in the United States. Itβs been years since I have seen her. I wrote this poem and painted the picture to connect with my sister, who is very dear to my heart.
Pink tulips Childhood days I think of you Playing and dreaming Skiesβall blue Rooted in love Planted in care Faithful Staying close in prayer Confident, stunning A beautiful sight Bold and strong Straight and upright Spring and summer have past It happened so fast From old bulbs New shoots grow Brilliant colors More grace to bestow The sunset glows Pink tulips shine Hope for today, For tomorrow and all time

Delightful poem! I wish I could write poetry, but I never seem to accomplish one that is pleasant to read or hear. lol
