Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we remember the Name of יהוה our Elohim.
Psalm 20:7
As I read a morning psalm, I stopped on this verse. I felt convicted. I was guilty of misplacing my trust and worrying about things, fleshly things.
Closing my eyes, I directed my attention on where people place their trust. I thought of the Tribulation—wars, diseases, famines, and destruction foretold in Scripture. These things were increasing around the world. Like never before, God’s people would need to trust Him.
After meditating, I wrote down this poem.
A Sure Trust
Some trust in idols In blindness, bow their knees We remember YHWH The God who ever sees
Some trust in food and drink A fleeting distraction We rely on YHWH Our only satisfaction
Some trust in the praise of man That comes in and out like ocean’s tides We remember YHWH Where our reward and esteem abides
They chase wealth, fame, and pleasure We pursue YHWH Giver of joy beyond measure
Some trust in governments Searching for answers and direction We take refuge in YHWH Who leads us on to perfection
Some trust in themselves Piety and traditions We remember YHWH Truth, apart from religion
Their plans, crafty schemes And plots so clever We cling to YHWH The mind transcending mortal endeavor
Some trust in gaining land With blood, they build their home We remember YHWH Our rock, wherever we may roam
Some trust in the power of war In missiles, armies, and violence Alliances with strong nations And artificial intelligence
But we, we remember Joseph in the dungeon And Daniel in the lion’s den When has Yah forgotten the helpless Or forsaken faithful men?
When the castles crumble When the idols fall We will be glad we trusted our God Who surpasses all

Gracy, that is a beautiful poem. I too read it when I first got up. It has set my day on the right track.
I really enjoyed that. Thank you!
