About 9 Sojourners
We are a family of 9 living in the Middle East. We left our homeland 10 years ago to follow our Master to the place where His Words say He will gather His people in the End Days.
The Bible talks about two kinds of sojourners.
1. There is the kind who leaves their homeland and lives in a country that is not their own.
It’s a choice of the will, a calling. No one forces the sojourner to leave. They can hear the voice of their Master calling, so they follow. They leave their homeland, not because they despise it, but because they long for something greater, a heavenly home. Abraham, Sarah, and Jacob are examples of this kind of sojourner.
This kind of sojourner is literal. The sojourner literally leaves their home country and lives among a different people group. Amid a different culture, customs, and religious beliefs, they stay set apart for their Father in Heaven.
2. The second kind of sojourner is figurative. It is someone who is on a journey in their relationship with their Heavenly Father.
They have accepted Yahushua as their Savior, and they seek to do as He commands. They are living a parable with the examples set by the forefathers of their faith. Not only that, but they are outcasts, even among their own culture. With little regard for the opinions of others, they follow their Master, however He leads.
Both kinds of sojourners require faith, and both experience loneliness. The joy promised through the written Word, as well as the confirmation of the Set-apart Spirit, keeps both kinds of sojourners going.
Our family of 9 has chosen to walk as sojourners in both meanings. We left our American dream, a homestead in Tennessee, and moved to the Middle East in preparation for the return of Yahushua the Messiah.
Through our blogging, teachings, and books, we have shared extensively about how we understand a special gathering of YHWH’s people in the End Days.

However, this 9 Sojourners Substack isn’t about our teachings, not directly. It’s about our walk—the steps on our journey.
9 Sojourners is about the things we are learning along the way—the quiet moments with our Messiah, the cultural encounters, the poems, songs, stories, and art we’ve created, and the lessons learned as we wait and prepare.
If you are a sojourner, in either sense of the word, this community is for you.
